OAK HOLLOW ALERT!!

Residents of Oak Hollow,

Please be advised the Police Department has received several calls over the past week regarding a suspicious person near the playground. Parents have advised a white male in his late-teens to early 20’s has been approaching young children, namely females, and asking if they want to go home with him. On two occasions, he has been seen in the wooded area near the playground.

He is described as a white male; approximately 5′02″ to 5′08″ and has a slender build. He may have brown hair, unknown length. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue-jeans and was possibly carrying a hunting knife.

Anyone with information on this subject is asked to contact the Anna PD at 972-547-5350.

***Parents, please educate your children about the inherent dangers of talking to strangers!!***

Home/Business Burglaries

Over the last week we have experienced two business burglaries and one home burglary.  The business burglaries ocurred on N Powell Pkwy.  It is unknown if the two incidents are related.  The home burglary ocurred during daytime hours (9:00am to 11:00 am).  The suspects kicked open the front door and removed a TV, game console, and laptop computer.  Neighbors said there was a newer model white (possibly Ford) truck parked in the driveway of the residence during those hours.  Suspects are not known at this time but it is suspected that they have been watching the neighborhood.  This incident ocurred in the Pecan Grove subdivision.

Please report any suspicious vehicles or people to the police immediately.

Garage Burglaries

On December 12, 2008 there was a garage burglary in the Stetson Ranch edition.  The suspect entered an open garage and removed a motorcycle.  The motorcycle was a dirt bike type and was easily placed in the bed of a pick-up truck.  The home owner followed the truck to the car wash on FM 455.  When the suspect accelerated through the parking lot, the bike fell out of the truck and was recovered by the owner.

The suspect vehicle is an older model green Ford stepside pick-up truck occupied by a white male with dark colored hair.  The license is 71Z-JH8 TX.  If you see this vehicle, please contact Anna Police 972-924-2848.

We remind you to keep your garage doors closed when you are not using the garage.  Keep your vehicles locked and all items out of view.  Thiefs look for opportunity and generally when opportunity knocks, they answer.  Please stay safe and have a happy holiday!

8th May 2008

Mark your calendars

Neighborhood watch information: May 17th from 12-2 pm at West Crossing Amenity Center

Oak Hollow Neighborhood Watch meeting: May 24, 2008 6 pm at the Star Bank in Anna.

Hi everyone! We are teaming up with other area Neighborhood Watches to try and get more of our neighbors to sign up and show them how much our watches can help. Our current Neighborhood Watch members stand at 111 families. We would love for you to bring your neighbors by our table and sign them up or just let them ask questions!

We will be at West Crossing Amenity Center May 17th from 12-2 pm. This will be a great event where there will be other Neighborhood Watches that we can all talk to and get ideas how to make our neighborhood the best! We will also be able to meet other city organizations and other members of our community. There will also be Bounce Houses, Prize Drawings, and Food available from the Malt Shop.

We could also start a Yahoo group for our neighborhood to be able to post information pertaining to our neighborhood this would also allow people to post other activities going on without using peoples email. Everyone can choose their own personal preferences to either have every post sent to them, one digest a day sent or none they can log in as they choose. Just another idea to get everyone communicating. It is free and is easier than having a full website.

Also Lynn and I have setup our first meeting of the year on May 24, 2008 6 pm at the Star Bank in Anna.

Oak Hollow Neighborhood Watch working together to keep our neighborhood safer!
